The College of Engineering and Computational Sciences (CEC) of Partido State University respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal data this website collects, why, how it is protected, and what your rights are under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
This website is part of Partido State University, which is the personal information controller for the data described here. This notice covers this website only. The University's own Privacy Notice covers your records as a student, employee or applicant, and applies wherever this notice does not say otherwise.
What we collect
When you browse the website. Pages can be read without an account or any form. To keep the site working and secure, the server keeps a short-lived session record with your IP address and browser type. It is deleted after two hours without activity.
When you send us a message. The contact form asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message. We also record your IP address to protect the form from abuse.
When you sign in. Faculty, staff and student organization officers who manage content have an account with their name, email address, a securely scrambled (hashed) password, and their role.
What we publish about people. The website publishes:
- Faculty and staff: name, designation, academic rank, education, office, consultation hours, research interests and publications. An official university email is shown only when the person chooses to publish it. As public employees, this is information about their position and functions (Section 4(a) of RA 10173).
- Student organization officers: name, position and term. A photo and short bio are shown only with the officer's consent. Officers' email addresses are never published.
- Students in activities, achievements and research: names of awardees and research authors, and photos from college events, published to document and promote the college's activities.
Why we use it
- To answer your inquiries and route them to the right office.
- To publish accurate information about the college, its programs, people and activities.
- To let authorized users manage the website's content, with changes by student officers and other contributors reviewed by the college before they are published.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Cookies
The website uses only the cookies it needs to work:
- a session cookie, which keeps your visit and any form you are filling in together;
- a security token (XSRF-TOKEN), which protects forms from being submitted by other websites;
- a "remember me" cookie, only if you tick that box when signing in.
There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers. Links to Facebook, Google Maps and the University's website take you to those sites, whose own privacy policies apply.
Who can see it
- Inquiries are seen only by the college staff who handle them and are emailed to the college's inquiry address.
- Accounts and submitted changes are seen only by the website's administrators and approvers.
- Data may be disclosed to government agencies, courts or the National Privacy Commission when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Session records: two hours without activity.
- Messages from the contact form: one year, then deleted automatically.
- Accounts: for as long as the person manages content for the college; removed when they no longer need access.
- Published information stays on the website for as long as it is current or of record value, and is corrected or removed on request where appropriate.
How we protect it
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to the administration area is limited by role, and each person can manage only the content they are responsible for. The University's security measures for its servers and systems also apply.
