Partido State University

About Us

The College of Engineering and Computational Sciences (CEC) was established as a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing educational offerings and optimizing academic programs. This development resulted from the merger of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) programs with selected offerings from the College of Arts and Sciences, specifically the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (BSMATH). This initiative is outlined in the Board of Regents (BOR) No. Series of 2023 – Strategic Plan 2023–2027.

Dean’s Welcome & Vision

Greetings Mighty Griffins!

Welcome to the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences.

Our strategic thrusts are to strengthen instruction, expand research and innovation, extend service to our communities, and keep our programs aligned with what industry and the region need. We prepare graduates who are technically sound, ethical, and ready to contribute from their first day of work.

We are proud of our students, faculty and alumni, and of the licensure results, awards and partnerships they continue to earn for the college. Thank you for visiting, and we invite you to be part of what we are building.

Seal of the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences

The college seal, dated 2024 and marked Goa Campus, is built from a gear ringed by laurel leaves and a band of binary code, with a torch, an open book and six program hexagons at its centre. Each element carries a meaning.

The gear represents the mechanistic aspect of engineering, symbolizing precision, teamwork, and progress. It signifies the intricate machinery and systems that engineers design and operate.

The torch embodies the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. It represents the guiding light of education, illuminating the path to discovery and innovation. It symbolizes the relentless quest for wisdom and understanding in the fields of engineering and computational science.

The book represents education, learning, and scholarship. It symbolizes the accumulation and dissemination of knowledge within the college. The open book signifies the constant exploration and acquisition of new ideas, theories, and methodologies.

The hexagons represent the 6 programs of the college: BS Civil Engineering BS Sanitary Engineering BS Engineering Technology BS Information Technology BS Computer Science BS Mathematics

The leaf symbolizes excellence and sustainability. It represents the commitment of the college to promote eco-friendly practices and solutions in engineering and computational science. The leaf signifies harmony with nature and the integration of sustainable principles into technological advancements.

ASCII code symbolizes the digital realm and computational science. It represents the foundational principles of computer science, coding, and data analysis within the college. The ASCII code underscores the importance of technology and computation in modern engineering practices. The value of this ASCII code is “College of Engineering and Computational Sciences”.

Our History

The College of Engineering and Computational Sciences traces its roots to the former College of Engineering and Technology, which for years offered civil, sanitary and engineering technology programs to students across the Partido area.

In 2023, the Board of Regents approved a strategic realignment that merged these programs with the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science and Mathematics programs previously under the College of Arts and Sciences, forming the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences (CEC) as it stands today.

Since then, the college has grown its faculty, expanded its laboratories, and produced graduates who have gone on to pass licensure examinations and enter both industry and public service — carrying forward a mission of producing globally competitive, socially responsible engineers and computing professionals.
